The St. Marys Public Library touches the lives of people in St. Marys and surrounding area, offering a community space with access to numerous programs and services. On any given day, people of all ages come into the library for a variety of reasons.
As an advocate for the importance of the library to our community, the Friends of the St. Marys Public Library (FOL) would like to recognize a young person who similarly values the library and its positive impact on their life.
This $1000 scholarship is awarded to a graduating St. Marys DCVI student who demonstrates this appreciation. While students may connect to the larger community impact of the library, their focus should be on insight drawn from personal experience, whether past or present. Suggested prompts will be provided in the application form.
Students may respond in writing, through video and/or audio recording, or through their own piece of visual art with an accompanying written explanation.
Submissions will be evaluated based on level of thoughtfulness and engagement with the topic of the positive impact of the St. Marys Public Library.
Applications are to be made through a Google Form, with the updated link to be made available in February of each year, with a deadline of May 1st. The scholarship recipient will be announced at Commencement in June.
